Anthrax Cases and Exposures

The eight people who have contracted anthrax, others who tested positive for exposure to anthrax and locations where anthrax was found. Some findings are tentative and further testing is under way.

CONTRACTED ANTHRAX:

_ Robert Stevens, 63, photo editor, the Sun, American Media Inc., Boca Raton, Fla. Contracted inhaled anthrax. Died Oct. 5

_ Ernesto Blanco, 73, mail room worker, American Media Inc., Boca Raton, Fla. Contracted inhaled anthrax; remains hospitalized. Until Oct. 15, was listed as only having been exposed to anthrax.

_ Erin O'Connor, 38, anchor Tom Brokaw's assistant, NBC, New York. Contracted anthrax skin infection. Treated with antibiotics.

_ Boy, 7 months, son of ABC News producer, New York. Contracted anthrax skin infection. Treated with antibiotics.

_ Claire Fletcher, 27, an assistant to CBS anchor Dan Rather in New York. Contracted anthrax skin infection. Treated with antibiotics.

_ A female letter carrier at the West Trenton post office, Ewing, N.J. Contracted anthrax skin infection. Treated with antibiotics.

_A 35-year-old male postal worker who sorts and loads mail at mail center in Hamilton, N.J. Contracted anthrax skin infection. Treated with antibiotics.

_ Johanna Huden, 30, assistant to editorial page editor at the New York Post. Contracted anthrax skin infection. Treated with antibiotics.

TESTED POSITIVE FOR EXPOSURE:

_ American Media employees Stephanie Dailey, David Wright and four others whose names were not released. Treated with antibiotics.

_ Two New York lab technicians, one policeman who worked on NBC case, names not released. Treated with antibiotics.

_ Twenty-eight people at the Capitol complex in Washington, D.C., including aides to Sen. Tom Daschle and two Capitol police officers. Treated with antibiotics.

LOCATIONS WHERE ANTHRAX FOUND:

_ American Media Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., on keyboard of man who died and in mail room.

_ Three U.S. Postal Service facilities, two in Boca Raton, Fla., where AMI is based; one in Lake Worth, near AMI's former address in Lantana.

_ NBC, New York, on letter postmarked Sept. 18, Trenton, N.J.

_ Daschle's Washington office, on letter postmarked Oct. 9, Trenton, N.J.

_ Gov. George Pataki's office, New York City.
